Policy Excerpts

Promoting Social and Emotional Development Policy

We aim to provide a warm and accepting environment where children are treated with respect and dignity and have a place as members of our inclusive centre community.

Our strategies are based on knowledge of children’s individual development and needs and includes parents’ insight.

We promote positive behaviour through warm relationships and expectations that are reasonable for a child and are guided by our centre philosophy.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi Policy

Kiwi Kids acknowledge and are committed to Māori as Tangata Whenua o Aotearoa and their language and culture are a living part of New Zealand society.  Kiwi Kids has a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi, recognizing and understanding that there is a dual cultural heritage for all to be enriched by.

Purpose

Transition to School Policy

Our centre recognizes that the primary school learning environments are quite different to early childhood settings.  Our aim is to support children emotionally, socially, cognitively, and physically, for the transition to school.

We aim to empower children with a love of learning to make the transition from centre to primary school, as smooth as possible.
